Con el polo como parte de su vida desde chico y un comienzo de temporada ideal en París, Eliott Joly empieza a tener sus primeros grandes momentos dentro del deporte y construir su historia. Con tan solo 15 años, el jugador francés habla sobre jugar en un club que siente como casa, el aprendizaje constante y sus objetivos para seguir evolucionando dentro de la cancha.
“Mi nombre es Eliott Joly, tengo 15 años y soy de Francia. Los caballos siempre fueron parte de mi vida y mi padre también jugaba al polo, así que crecí rodeado de este deporte desde muy chico. Gracias a él tuve la oportunidad de descubrir el polo de manera natural. Empecé a montar cuando era muy chico y después comencé a jugar al polo con más regularidad en Polo de Paris junto a Laetitia Macaire. Hoy el polo ocupa un lugar muy importante en mi día a día y dedico mucho tiempo a entrenar y jugar.”
Inauguraste la temporada con una victoria en el Tournoi de l’Alliance en París. ¿Cómo se siente empezar el año de esta manera?
Es una muy buena manera de empezar la temporada. Ganar el Tournoi de l’Alliance en París me da confianza para el resto del año y siempre está bueno comenzar con un buen resultado. También estoy muy agradecido con Mathieu Delfosse y Red Falcon por darme la oportunidad de jugar con ellos durante el torneo.
¿Ya habías jugado antes en Polo de Paris? ¿Y habías ganado algún torneo allí previamente?
Sí, claro. Juego muy seguido en Polo de Paris, así que para mí se siente un poco como estar en casa. Ya conocía muy bien el club y las canchas antes de este torneo.
¿Qué es lo que más disfrutás de jugar en Polo de Paris? ¿Qué destacás del ambiente, la organización o el nivel de competencia?
Disfruto mucho jugar en Polo de Paris porque paso bastante tiempo ahí durante la temporada. El ambiente siempre es muy bueno, la organización funciona muy bien y los partidos siempre son muy lindos de jugar.
¿Ya conocías a tus compañeros de equipo? ¿Cómo fue la experiencia de jugar juntos?
Sí, ya conocía a algunos de mis compañeros antes del torneo. Eso hizo que todo fuera más fácil dentro de la cancha y tuvimos una muy buena conexión durante los partidos.
¿Cuáles son tus planes para el resto de la temporada? ¿Te vamos a seguir viendo jugar en Francia? ¿Tenés objetivos o expectativas para 2026?
Sí, voy a seguir jugando en Francia esta temporada, especialmente en París. Mi objetivo para 2026 es principalmente seguir progresando, ganar más experiencia y jugar la mayor cantidad de torneos posible.
¿Hay algún jugador que admires o alguien que te inspire en tu carrera dentro del polo?
Cuando era más chico tuve la oportunidad de ver jugar a Camilo Castagnola en Polo de Deauville y recuerdo que me impresionó muchísimo. Ver jugadores como él a ese nivel fue algo muy inspirador para mí y me dio ganas de seguir mejorando y aprendiendo más sobre este deporte.

With polo being part of his life from a very young age and after an ideal start to the season in Paris, Eliott Joly is beginning to experience some of his first big moments in the sport while building his own story. At just 15 years old, the French player speaks about competing at a club that feels like home, the constant learning process, and his goals to continue evolving on the field.
“My name is Eliott Joly, I’m 15 years old and I’m from France. Horses have always been part of my life, and my father also played polo, so I grew up around the sport from a young age. Thanks to him, I had the opportunity to discover polo naturally. I started riding when I was very young and later began playing polo more regularly at Polo de Paris with Laetitia Macaire. Today, polo takes a big place in my daily life and I spend a lot of time training and playing.”
You’ve just opened the season with a victory at the Tournoi de l’Alliance in Paris.. how does it feel to start the year this way?
It’s a very good way to start the season. Winning the Tournoi de l’Alliance in Paris gives confidence for the rest of the year and it’s always nice to begin the season with a good result. I’m also very thankful to Mathieu Delfosse and the Red Falcons for giving me the opportunity to play with them during the tournament.
Had you played at Polo de Paris before? And had you ever won any tournament there previously?
Yes, of course. I play at Polo de Paris very often, so it feels a bit like home for me. I already knew the club and the fields well before this tournament.
What do you enjoy the most about playing at Polo de Paris? Is there something special about the atmosphere, the organization, or the level of competition?
I really enjoy playing at Polo de Paris because I spend a lot of time there during the season. The atmosphere is always good, the organization is smooth and the games are always enjoyable to play.
Did you already know your teammates? How was the experience of playing together?
Yes, I already knew some of my teammates before the tournament. It made things easier on the field and we had a good understanding during the games.
What are your plans for the rest of the season? Will we continue seeing you play in France? Any goals or expectations for 2026?
Yes, I’ll continue playing in France this season, especially in Paris. My goal for 2026 is mainly to keep progressing, gain more experience and play as many tournaments as possible.
Is there any player you admire or someone who inspires you in your polo career?
When I was younger, I had the chance to watch Camilo Castagnola play at Polo de Deauville and I remember finding it very impressive. Seeing players like him at that level was really inspiring for me and made me want to keep improving and learning more about the sport.
